Drawing Basic Shapes with Light & Shadow (BSA 126)
LIGHT AND SHADOW
This was my first task in class and it's about lightning and shadowing. How make a flat basic shapes look like it is 3D. Let us see :)
On Monday, 20th February, our tutor was explaining about basic drawing techniques. The most important thing that I learned is about shadows. Drawing shadows is actually harder than I thought because I have to pay attention on the light, where does it come from? And is there any objects that blocks the light? I really need to see it carefully in order to make a better drawing.
At the end of the subject, out tutor gave us some practices to do. One of them was drawing 5 basic shapes such as circle, square, and triangle to make it looks more life and real by giving the shadows. It's so interesting actually! And these are my drawings:
1. Light from the right side
I used a mechanical pencil for the first drawing and that's the reason some of the dark shadows don't look really dark...
2. Light from the left side
For the second drawing, I used 2B pencil and it was actually helps me a lot. It made me work faster since the thickness of the pencil tip is bigger. Furthermore, if you look at 2 of my pictures, obviously the second one is darker, right?
That is some of my reviews for my drawings, I would like to hear your comments and critiques as well, see you on my next post :)
